Emblems of the Taiwan Hospital Association

  • The national flag represents the country. The Taiwan Hospital Association is a national social group, not a local organization; it does not distinguish among public or private hospitals, nor by their categories.
  • The “green cross” in the center represents the health and medical profession, or the medical sector in general, including every kind of staff in a hospital, such as doctors, nurses, medical technicians, administrators and social workers.
  • The oil lamp on the bottom right corner represents nurses, symbolizing the spirit handed down from Nurse Nightingale, who made the rounds caring for patients at night holding an oil lamp.
  • The symbol on the bottom left is another internationally recognized one, representing doctors. The two bottom symbols together represent medical professionals.
  • The number “ 1968” indicates the year the Association was founded.
  • The rays of light: symbolic of the Association having a bright future full of hope.
